HOW TO WRITE YOUR OWN BUSINESS PLAN
1. Determine why you want to write a business plan. What do you wish to determine about your business? Here are some common purposes and goals for business plans.
To evaluate initial startup costs.
To establish the fundamental viability of a project.
To define your products, services and customers and assess competitors.
To map out the business model, the goals and the strategy used to achieve them.
To communicate to others (banks, investors, partners, etc.) the business idea.
2. Begin writing or brainstorm first and then write, according to the following flow:
i. Introduce yourself. Tell the reader who you are, your background, education, professional experience, your success to-date.
ii. Explain your product or service. What does it do for the customer? Does it have any unique features or facets? How it is produced?
iii. Describe your target customers. Why you have chosen to market to these customers?
Back up your argument with evidence from your experience, reports, and market research.
iv. Describe any unique selling points or advantages you have. Why will your customers buy from your business? Are you providing better value, guarantees, superior quality, reduced risk, or better location?
v. Explain how much your customers will pay for each of the products or services you will provide. Describe any up-selling opportunities and how many times a customer will buy from you in a typical year. Again, use any market research or other evidence you can produce or how much service you can provide in a typical year. Again, use any market research or evidence you can bring to support your argument.
vi. Explain how many products you can produce or how much service you can provide in a typical year. Back this up with whatever supporting evidence you have.
vii. Examine how much each unit of product costs to produce. If your business is a service business, describe how much it costs to provide the service. Don’t forget overhead expenses.
viii. Detail how much start-up investment the business will require and what you require it for.
ix. Explain why your business is viable and what evidence you have to support the claim. This will require some market research to demonstrate that there is a viable market for your product or service.
x. Summarize, on a single page at the beginning, list the main points of your plan in bullet point form. This is single most important part of your business plan. It will be read first by all readers of your business plan and will determine if they will read further and ultimately support your business idea or not. Write this summary last, but put it at the front of your plan.

1. Jiulize kwa nini unataka kuandika mchanganuo. Unataka kuthibitisha kitu gani kwenye mradi/biashara yako.
Yafuatayo ni baadhi ya malengo na sababu ya kutengeneza mchanganuo.
Kutathmini gharama za kuanzia mradi.
Kutathmini uwezekano wa kufanikiwa kwa mradi.
Kueleza bidhaa, huduma na wateja wako na kuangalia hali ya ushindani.
Kutengeneza namna utakavyo kuwa mradi wako, malengo,na mikakati ya kufanikisha malengo.
Kuwasiliana na vyombo vingine (benki, wawekezaji, washiriki wengine nk.) kuhusu wazo la mradi.
2. Fikiria kwanza kabla ya kuanza kuandika halafu andika kama ifuatavyo:
i. Jitambulishe, wewe ni nani, historia yako, kiwango chako cha elimu, ujuzi, uzoefu, na mafanikio yako mpaka sasa.
ii. Elezea bidhaa/huduma unazoshughulika nazo zina faida gani kwa mteja zina vitu maalum kutofautisha na zingine zinazalishwaje/tengenezwaje?
iii. Eleza soko/walengwa wa mradi:
• Kwa nini umeamua kuwauzia wao?
• Toa vithibitisho vya maelezo yako, kama utafiti nk.
iv. Eleza vigezo muhimu vya kuuza bidhaa zako, au nguvu yako kulinganisha na wengine.
• Kwa nini wateja wanunue kwako.
• Unatoa bidhaa bora zaidi,waranti,bidhaa zako za thamani zaidi au uko sehemu nzuri, hakuna hatari yoyote inayoambatana na bidhaa zako.
v. Elezea bei ya bidhaa/huduma zako, na namna unavyouza.
vi. Elezea kiwango cha huduma/bidhaa unazoweza kuzalisha kwa mwaka. Thibitisha na ushahidi kama upo.
vii. Ainisha gharama ya uzalishaji, kama ni huduma elezea gharama ya kutoa huduma hiyo, usisahau gharama ndogo ndogo ambazo watu wengi hawazithamini.
viii. Elezea kwa kina kiasi cha mtaji kinachohitajika kwa kuanzia, na kwa kazi gani.
ix. Elezea kwa nini biashara yako inawezekana kuendeshwa kwa mafanikio, toa na uthibitisho huo.
x. Tengeneza Muhtasari, katika ukurasa wa kwanza, ukionyesha mambo muhimu katika vidokezo. Hii ndiyo sehemu muhimu katika mchanganuo wako.
Itasomwa kwanza na walengwa wote wa mchanganuo huo, na itaonyesha kama watasoma mchanganuo mzima na kukubaliana na wazo lako.
Muhtasari huu andika mwishoni kabisa lakini uwekwe ukurasa wa kwanza wa mchanganuo.
